Missed a call? Your customer gets a text from you, not a robot.
Checked every morning, and we tell you if it fails. Kestrel sets up missed-call text-back on your own number, for heating engineers and plumbers.
No card needed until day 14. No setup fee.
Your Business
Hi, sorry we missed your call to Your Business. What do you need help with? Reply here and we'll get back to you shortly. Reply STOP to opt out.
The problem
You're under a boiler or up a ladder, and the phone goes. You can't answer it. Someone with no heating doesn't sit and wait for a call back. They ring the next firm.
How it works
-
We set it up on your number.
You keep your number. When you don't answer, you're busy or you can't be reached, the call goes over to a Kestrel UK mobile line.
Diverted calls may cost something on your phone tariff, so check with your provider.
-
The caller gets a text.
If they rang from a mobile, they get one plain text in your business's name within about 30 seconds. You write the wording and approve it before it goes live. Outside your opening hours, they get your out-of-hours version.
-
You get the details.
You get a text and an email for every missed call we text, and every reply comes to you in full. Replies about a leak, a burst, no heating, no hot water or gas are marked URGENT.
-
We keep it running.
Checked every morning, and we tell you if it fails. There's a weekly health check too, and a report every month.
What's included
- You keep your existing number
- Your own wording, approved by you in writing
- A text for in-hours and one for out-of-hours
- Alerts by text and email, with every reply forwarded
- URGENT flags on replies about leaks, bursts, no heating, no hot water or gas
- Safety guidance sent automatically: if a reply mentions gas, a smell or a CO alarm, the caller gets the National Gas Emergency Service number, 0800 111 999, and is told to call 999 if anyone feels unwell
- STOP and UNSUBSCRIBE handled straight away, with a do-not-text list kept
- If opt-outs can't be checked, no text goes out and we tell you to call back instead
- Checked every morning, and we tell you if it fails
- A weekly health check
- A monthly report built from your call log
- One named person looks after your setup: Milo
- Your call log kept for 12 months, and handed over if you leave
- 200 texts to your callers a month, then 8p a text. Your own alerts and the morning check don't count
Price
Try it free for 14 days. Then £119 for your first month, and £139 a month after that.
No setup fee. 200 texts to your callers a month, then 8p a text. Month to month, with no contract. Kestrel isn't VAT registered, so there's no VAT to add.
No card needed until day 14. Stop during the 14 days and you pay nothing.
For scale, Checkatrade's October 2026 cost guide puts a typical boiler repair at around £300 and an emergency repair at around £450, plus VAT. We can't promise Kestrel will win you any particular job. It just stops a missed call going unanswered. (Checkatrade boiler repair costs)

Questions
Isn't this cheaper elsewhere?
Yes, there are cheaper do-it-yourself tools. Kestrel is for owners who want it set up for them, checked every day and looked after by a person.
Is it an AI?
No. Your customer gets one text, worded by you, and you're the one who replies.
Is texting people legal?
Each text is a service reply to someone who has just called you. It carries STOP and has no offers in it. This follows ICO guidance on service messages. It isn't legal advice.
What happens if it breaks?
We check it every morning, and we tell you if it fails. If opt-outs can't be checked, no text goes out and you're told to call back. Calls missed while it's down are listed for you to ring back. Nobody gets a late automatic text.
Will my customers see a different number?
They ring your usual number. The text comes from a Kestrel UK mobile line and is signed with your business name.
What about landlines or withheld numbers?
We can't text those callers, but you still get an alert.
Does the divert cost me anything?
It might, depending on your tariff. Check with your provider.
What about gas emergencies?
If a reply mentions gas, a smell or a CO alarm, the caller is sent the National Gas Emergency Service number, 0800 111 999, and you get an URGENT alert. Kestrel never tells anyone you're on your way.
What happens after the 14 days?
Nothing is charged and no card is taken during the 14 days. If you want to keep it, your first paid month is £119, then it's £139 a month. Stop during the 14 days and you pay nothing.
